Apple Consulting
Are you running an Apple or mixed-platform environment? Thinking about deploying Apple products? Our staff of certified professionals is prepared to respond at a moment’s notice to all of your organization’s IT needs:
- Mac OS X Server – If you’re a small business or in the market for a workgroup server (even if you’ve got Windows clients), you can’t go wrong with Mac OS X Server 10.5. Think of OS X Server as an all-in-one web server, email server (with spam and virus filtering), chat server, multi-platform VPN server, directory server, dns server, and more! Trusted, tested, and secure Linux underpinnings assure rock-solid performance, while Apple’s monitoring and configuration software keep management quick and simple.
- Mac OS X Client - There are a lot of great Mac consultants out there. What sets the Impossible Factory apart is that all of our consultants have a strong Linux background, and can quickly and effectively go behind the scenes on your Mac to fix even the most complex problems. Linux? Yep, that’s right. Mac OS X is just a really fancy Unix distribution. That translates to more reliable diagnoses, faster fixes, and a lower consulting spend.
- Networking – It’s a connected world. We can help keep your systems in the loop. Whether it’s setting up a wireless network or integrating OS X Server with your existing network hardware, trust the Impossible Factory to manage and support every aspect of your OS X network.
- Enterprise iPhone deployment - Ready to launch the ‘world’s most advanced mobile phone’ in your organization? We can help! The Impossible Factory offers a complete deployment solution, from purchase assistance, to back-end integration and configuration, to end-user training and delivery.
- Site Analysis – Perfect for small, growing, and changing organizations (okay – everyone), the Impossible Factory site analysis consists of a site visit, complete IT inventory, and a set of recommendations including purchasing and depreciation schedules and suggested hardware and software tailored to your specific needs. If you’re interested, we can also take a look at ways to make your organization’s technology more sustainable (see below) at the same time.
Sustainable IT
- Project Management – Ready to launch a sustainable IT initiative, but don’t have the in-house expertise or skill set to bring your project in on-time and on-budget? Let the Impossible Factory help. We keep up on all the latest environmental technologies, standards, and vendor compliance, and have access to preferred vendor pricing for a number of products and services. Combine that with proven project management experience, and your sustainable IT program is in good hands.
- Site Analysis – It’s hard to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you stand. Let the Impossible Factory pay you a visit, prepare a complete IT inventory, meter your technology energy consumption, and analyze your technology goals and needs. Once we’ve gathered all the data, we work directly with you to create a sustainable IT plan that works for your strategy and budget. We’ll show you how to properly dispose of old technology (which likely contains a number of harmful substances), schedule the purchase of and choose appropriate new equipment, and teach your employees ways to reduce energy consumption while still getting the most from their technology.
- Energy Source / Offset management - We can work with your local energy provider to help your organization get the energy needed to power your technology from clean, renewable power sources. If your local power company doesn’t offer the option, but you still want to go completely “green,” we can help set you up with carbon and energy offsets equal to your organization’s consumption.
Support Retainer
For some organizations, a full time IT staff might not be cost effective. Our Support Retainers allow small and mid-size organizations in the Boston area access to discounted, priority consulting resources, an annual Site Analysis, as well as remote systems monitoring. All for less than half the price of an entry-level help desk employee!
